Xelvu Privacy Policy
Xelvu (“Xelvu”, “we”, “us” or “our”) provides a mobile application that helps users scan objects, obtain AI-assisted identification and descriptions, and manage their discoveries. This policy explains how we collect, use, share, retain and protect personal data when you use Xelvu.
1. Data we collect
- Account and contact data: name, email address, account identifier, profile photo and, when provided or required for verification, telephone number.
- Authentication data: information required to sign in through Google or another supported identity provider. We do not receive your provider password.
- Camera and image data: images you capture or select for object scanning and identification. Camera access is used only after you grant permission.
- App content and preferences: scan results, saved discoveries, selected country, language, preferred currency and subscription or plan status.
- Technical and usage data: device and app information, diagnostics, crash information, security events and basic interaction data needed to operate and improve the service.
2. How we use data
We use data to authenticate users; provide scanning and AI-assisted object identification; save and display user content; adapt language and currency; operate subscriptions and usage limits; prevent fraud and abuse; diagnose errors; improve performance; provide support; and comply with legal obligations.
3. Camera and images
Xelvu requests camera permission only to let you capture an image for scanning. Images selected for analysis may be transmitted securely to our cloud and AI service providers to generate a result. We do not use camera access in the background. You can revoke camera permission at any time in Android settings, although scanning will then be unavailable.
4. Sharing and service providers
We do not sell personal data. We may share only the data necessary to operate Xelvu with service providers that support authentication, cloud hosting, storage, diagnostics, security, AI-assisted analysis and in-app purchases. These may include Google Firebase, Google Cloud, Google Play and supported sign-in providers. Providers process data under their own terms and applicable data-protection obligations. We may also disclose data when required by law or to protect users, Xelvu or the public.
5. Data retention and deletion
We retain account data while your account is active and retain other information only as long as needed for the purposes described above, legal compliance, security and dispute resolution. You may use the account-deletion option available in Xelvu or request deletion at admin@xelvu.app. Some limited records may be retained where required by law or necessary to prevent fraud.
6. Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, including encrypted network connections and access controls. No system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Children
Xelvu is not directed to children under 13, or the minimum age required in their country to consent to data processing. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children below the applicable age. Contact us if you believe a child has provided such data.
8. International processing
Service providers may process data in countries other than your own. Where required, appropriate safeguards are used for international data transfers.
9. Your choices and rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing of your personal data, and to withdraw consent. You can update certain information in the app or contact us to submit a request.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Xelvu evolves or legal requirements change. We will post the updated version on this page and revise the effective date.
